Probing Contact Electrification between Gas and Solid Surface

چکیده
Contact electrification exists everywhere and between every phase of matter. However, its mechanism still remains to be studied. The recent triboelectric nanogenerator serves as a probe provides some new clues about the present in solid–solid, solid–liquid, liquid–liquid contact electrification. gas–solid model exploited. Here, we investigated gases solids based on single-electrode nanogenerator. Our work shows that amount transferred charges gas solid particles increases with surface area, movement distance, initial particle increase. Furthermore, find can attract more polar molecules enhance collisions. Since ions are rare, speculate is mainly electron transfer. Further, propose theoretical involving collision particle. study may have great significance interface chemistry.

Contact electrification between identical materials.
Contact electrification (CE), the transfer of charge between two surfaces that are brought into contact and then separated, plays a central role in several useful technologies, such as photocopying, laser printing, and electrostatic separation methods, but is also responsible for the build-up of charge leading to electrical shocks, explosions, mechanical jams, or damage of electronic equipment....
متن کاملWater-solid surface contact electrification and its use for harvesting liquid-wave energy.
Contact electrification, also called triboelectrification, is an old but well-known phenomenon in which surface charge transfer occurs when two materials are brought into contact. Although some of the fundamental mechanisms about triboelectrification are still under discussion, such as what subjects (electrons, ions, or small amounts of material) are transferred during the contact and separatio...
متن کاملThe mosaic of surface charge in contact electrification.
When dielectric materials are brought into contact and then separated, they develop static electricity. For centuries, it has been assumed that such contact charging derives from the spatially homogeneous material properties (along the material's surface) and that within a given pair of materials, one charges uniformly positively and the other negatively. We demonstrate that this picture of con...
متن کاملA Simple Approach to Characterize Gas-Aqueous Liquid Two-phase Flow Configuration Based on Discrete Solid-Liquid Contact Electrification
In this study, we first suggest a simple approach to characterize configuration of gas-aqueous liquid two-phase flow based on discrete solid-liquid contact electrification, which is a newly defined concept as a sequential process of solid-liquid contact and successive detachment of the contact liquid from the solid surface. This approach exhibits several advantages such as simple operation, pre...
متن کاملDirect probing of contact electrification by using optical second harmonic generation technique
Contact electrification between two different materials is one of the oldest fields of study in solid-state physics. Here, we introduced an innovative system based on optical electric-field-induced second harmonic generation (EFI-SHG) technique that can directly monitor the dynamic performance of the contact electrification on the surface of polyimide film. After the contact, the EFI-SHG system...
